Position Summary

As a member of the Finance team, the Accounts Receivable Coordinator supports the organizational goals by establishing and maintaining excellent relationships with external customers and internal operational staff in the Sales and Broadcast Traffic departments, to ensure the timely and accurate submission of invoices and processing within our accounting system.

 

Areas of Responsibility

  1. Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording accounts receivables’ data.
  2. Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and correctly posted.
  3. Initiate and foster positive relationships with customers.

Specific Job Duties:

  1. Sort and distribute the daily mail.
  2. Create and maintain customer records.
  3. Assist with performing credit checks.
  4. Submit invoices to customers.
  5. Email monthly invoices and process and email the Sales Team Aged Trial Balances as needed.
  6. Upload SDS airtime invoices electronically.
  7. Process manual invoices/credits for YES TV.
  8. Interact with customers and facilitate payment of invoices by the due date. Send reminders when necessary.
  9. Process incoming payments from customers.
  10. Verify discrepancies with customers and resolve billing issues.
  11. Process A/R Bank Deposits/Receipt Batches.
  12. Process daily bank deposits and receipt batches. (Cheques/Credit Cards/EFT).
  13. Review and approve all A/P payment batches.
  14. Prepare and distribute various monthly and on-request items, including collections, major deal tracking, and other assigned reports.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Completion of post-secondary education.
  2. A solid accounting background in accounts receivable, preferably in a broadcast environment
  3. Familiarity with Sage 300.
  4. Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information.
  5. Exemplary professional communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  6. Strong customer service orientation and ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, and professionally at all times.
  7. Strong problem-solving and reasoning skills.
  8. Able to prioritize.
